Biography
Sam Weinberg is a saxophonist, composer, and improviser living and working in Brooklyn, NY. His active projects include W-2 (with Chris Welcome), BLOOR (with Andrew Smiley and Jason Nazary), Maestro Day (with Henry Fraser and Joe Moffett), and music for solo saxophone. Other improvised collaborations and projects are many and varied and include the likes of Ben Bennett, Jaimie Branch, Sandy Ewen, Weasel Walter, Mark Morgan, and Jon Lipscomb.
He also works extensively with sound collage and musique concrete in which he deals with perception, texture, repetition, and disintegration. His latest sound collage record A/V/E will be released in the summer of 2018 on Philip White’s Anticausal Systems imprint.
