Polka Madre: Almost unclassifiable -- but oddly compelling in a most surreal, but agreeable, way. Picture going to a friend's wake... on Halloween. There's a band playing - and they're drunk - but 'loose' and playing well, for all that; with a singer who might be David Byrnes' distant cousin... The sound coming at you is a sort of Dia de Los Muertos v/s night-of-the-living-dead... Klezmer... sur...
