Biography
Barcelonan songwriter & poet Pau Riba is known as the Father of Catalan Rock - he was singing in Catalan when it was illegal; his 1970 debut LP "Dioptria" is a legendary piece of European psych-folk, with echoes of Brazilians Raul Seixas and Os Mutantes and Brits Roy Harper and Incredible String Band meeting pure homespun Catalan Surrealism; and yet he's almost completely unknown in the US. - Scott Williams
