Neal Pollack is the greatest living American writer, author of more than 50 books, winner of every literary prize on Earth, and lover of hundreds of beautiful women and a few very discreet but rich men. Neal Pollack is also a guy who lives in Austin and has written two books: The Neal Pollack Anthology of American Literature and Poetry and Other Poems andAlterna-Dad.This record, produced by Jon Langford, is the product of an infamous 1995 meeting on a transcontinental airplane, wherein Pollack and Langford got drunk and watched "Absolutely Fabulous," finally falling asleep in each other's arms. Years later, when Pollack had achieved some success, he and Langford managed to con Bloodshot into releasing a parody of Harry Smith's beloved Anthology of American Folk Music. The evil result of their efforts is now displayed in all its glory, with contributions from Sally Timms and Kelly Hogan, among many others.
