As a contemporary of Nick Drake, John Martyn and Roy Harper, guitarist Michael Chapman first emerged on the folk-music circuits of Cornwall, moving on to the fabled London scene. Blending elements of folk, jazz and classical styles, he created his own unique catalog of challenging, often autobiographical original compositions and established a formidable reputation as an intense live performer and musical innovator. Michael Chapman is about to release a new album and drops by Irene's show on WFMU. (bio by Irene Trudel: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa)
