Megan Jean and Byrne Klay met in 2004 while living in New York City, where they were avid WFMU listeners. Disillusioned with the music-mill mentality in the concrete jungle, they sold their possessions, quit their day jobs, and hit the road full-time, focusing on the Southeast. Fourteen shows turned into 200 a year and a newfound home in Charleston's music community. While on the road, the pair forged their unique sound. Megan sings, plays guitar, washboard and converted kick drum, while Byrne sings and plays upright bass and banjo. Their most recent album is DEAD WOMAN WALKING.
