Socrates is specialized in creating a warm energizing ambiance. His sets are distinguished by a tasteful balance between electronic & acoustic elements. Playfully moving back & forth between the familiar and the adventurous, Socrates brings together the music of different countries & cultures. Cumbia, Global Reggae, Balkan vibes, Mestizo, Celtic Fusion & Afro Beat are all favourite ingredients. With a jazzy focus & a potent shot of sunshine Socrates brews his exciting dance floor vibe. Spicy club sounds might be in the mix but the roots & soul of the music will always come first. Socrates is a regular performer in the Amsterdam world fusion scene back home, but has also performed in in Latin America in Suriname & Costa Rica, in Scotland with Mungo’s Hifi Soundsystem & in Belgium with his vintage tropical collective Rusty Beat Club.
