On Any Normal Monday (1982), the second self-released Cleaners from Venus cassette, saw a noticeable jump in both the duo's songwriting technique and recording capability. Indeed, "Night Starvation," the tape's first track, remains one of the band's highest watermarks, and it speaks of Martin Newell (guitar, vox, miscellany) and Lol Elliot's (drums, etc.) growing pop prowess as they forged sideways and ahead. Brooklyn-based label Captured Tracks reissued the cassette to LP in April of 2012.
