Last year, Bug Incision Records sent a clutch of releases to WFMU, many of which included the percussion work of Chris Dadge. What was this amazing music? Seemingly out of nowhere (actually Calgary, Canada) came this fully formed parade of improv, a vibrant and less cynical version than occasionally emanates from the NYC music environs. Bug Incision is the work of Chris Dadge and associates who do the label and run a concert series (and at one time a local radio series, as well). After exchanging some emails with Chris, he and Scott Munro, together known as the Bent Spoon Duo, kindly put together today's set especially for The Long Rally. I could tell you what instruments the two will play but I'd be guessing since anything goes: drumset, violin, sk-1, upright bass, trombone, electronics, vocals, etc. Expect spirited, reflexive and all-consuming improvisation. -Scott McDowell/WFMU (WFMU Playlist & Streaming Archive for The Long Rally radio pgm)
