The Birth of OdysseyQ Elements: A Journey of Sound and Soul.
Before there was OdysseyQ Elements, there were just two artists—me (Lxdge) and Loover—driven by a shared love for music and storytelling.
Our journey began with casual freestyle sessions, experimenting with melodies and rhythms, but we soon realized we had something special.
Our sound wasn’t just beats and lyrics; it was an expression of culture, energy, and emotion. - FMA Team
First Track, First Vibe
Our first track, IMIZAMO (FEAT.TJ PALMTREES) came to life one late night when inspiration struck unexpectedly. We had been talking about the elements—earth, water, fire, and air—and how they symbolize different emotions and experiences. That conversation turned into a concept, and from that concept, a beat was born. Loover laid down some soulful chords on Cubic base, while I experimented with layered vocal harmonies.
The Recording Process: Capturing Raw Emotion
Recording wasn’t about perfection; it was about feeling. We used a simple but effective setup—a Focusrite Scarlett interface, a Rode NT1-A microphone, and Cubic nase as our main DAW. Every take had to feel right, not just sound right. Some days, we recorded in a dimly lit room with candles burning, setting a vibe that matched the track. - Building the OdysseyQ Sound
As we progressed, our sound evolved. We drew inspiration from artists like Murumba Pitch, Nkosazana Daughter, and Mthunzi, blending deep Afro-house with soulful harmonies. Each track became a story—whether it was about love, struggle, or personal growth. - Indoda Engenamali (Feat.Masandy, it's Dynamo & DML) inspired by traditional African instruments. We sampled private school piano sounds and blended them with deep, atmospheric synths. The fusion of modern and ancestral created something unique—something that felt like home yet pushed boundaries.
Looking Ahead
OdysseyQ Elements isn’t just about music; it’s about energy, storytelling, and cultural connection. Every release is a piece of our journey, a reflection of where we’ve been and where we’re going. The dream is to keep growing, experimenting, and sharing our sound with the world—one element at a time. - OdysseyQ Elements
